Deep & Wide
I knew before the day began that it was a day to receive His gentle nearness. I felt my weakness rising to the surface, my soul more tender and vulnerable than usual. I could hear an echo of His invitation in the quiet that comes when you come to your own end: "let My strength be perfected in your weakness."
Some days are hard to describe; they can be a combination of the heaviest and lightest of matters. Things like watching on a tv with a Syrian family their hometown being destroyed by war: a sorrow, deep.
And a few minutes earlier having held their beautiful month-old baby peaceful in your arms: a joy, wide.
I am so thankful for a furious love that does not fail to cover us as we sit together, broken, and yet made whole by a love, deep & wide.
