An Unending Kingdom

The hardest to love are the ones who reject it, those who are 'enemies.' But the Holy Spirit enables us to go beyond natural law, eye for an eye, and go deeper to the law of love. It is possible to stare an enemy in the eye, feel deeply the pain they've afflicted, and yet regard them with deepest compassion and blessing. It is even possible to embrace them, to invite them in, as love has reversed the affects of death. This is what was modeled for us by Jesus on the cross, lest we pass it for some lesser sacrifice. In the end we rejoice in our suffering, knowing it will offer us the opportunity to love in the deepest possible way, and so know the deepest possible joy. His Kingdom knows no end.
