He Fights For Us

When You stand, I feel all of heaven tremble. As You breathe, we live and have our being. When You speak, I feel it in my chest. When You sing, all my fears are put to rest. When You sigh, the wind becomes a sonnet. When You love, the storm around me ceases. When You whisper, all my enemies are scattered.
— AMANDA COOK/ Bethel Music

I see a picture of how the Father fights for us. It is this: God in all His glory, eyes on fire with love, spinning and singing over us as the battle rages on all around. The movement of His body and the movement of His heart create a heavenly disturbance of the atmosphere. A safe shelter is formed around us, powers of the air banished, displaced by Love Himself.

This is how we are to fight our battles. We look to the Father and copy what He is doing. Sons and daughters wage war through worship. We dance when darkness encroaches upon us. We sing when fear threatens to grip our hearts. His presence comes in like a flood and delivers us from it all.

...and (He) freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever.
— Psalm 136: 24
